BoxVault Privacy Policy

BoxVault is a local-first moving box and storage inventory app for iPhone. It helps you organize boxes, photos, QR labels, item lists, checklists, and inventory exports without requiring a BoxVault account or server.

Data Collection

BoxVault does not require an account. BoxVault does not run a BoxVault server and does not upload your inventory data to any BoxVault service.

The app stores project, box, item, checklist, settings, and Pro state data locally on your device using local JSON files. Photos added to boxes stay on your device in local BoxVault storage.

Camera and Photos

BoxVault uses the camera only to scan BoxVault QR labels created by the app. Scanning a BoxVault QR label opens the matching local box record when that record exists on your device.

When you add photos to a box, those photos remain on your device. BoxVault does not upload photos to a server.

Item Lift runs on device when available. It helps you create item entries from a selected local photo, but it does not send photos to a BoxVault server.

Tracking and Analytics

BoxVault has no ads, no tracking, no analytics SDK, and no third-party dependencies.

BoxVault does not sell personal data and does not use data for cross-app tracking.

Backups and Exports

You can export local JSON backups and PDF inventory files through the iOS share sheet. You control where exported files are saved or shared.

Imported JSON backup files are selected by you through the iOS document picker.
